Positive psychology and its limitations

Positive psychology is the scientific study of what makes life most worth living. Psychology is somewhere related to technology, just like technology keeps on changing with time similarly positive psychology has changed as compared to earlier times. The reason behind is that problems have changed now, as people have different kinds of issues and problems.

In such cases, you should visit the Best Psychologist in Gurgaon to manage and get support for such issues.
Earlier people used to think psychology only works on people who are mentally ill and they used to consider it as socially unacceptable situation.

According to Martin Seligman, positive psychology is:

As concerned with strength as with weakness.

As interested in building the best things in life as in repairing the worst

As concerned with making the lives of normal people fulfilling and with nurturing high talent as with healing pathology.

Psychologists study positive aspects of an individual and they bring out the best things out of a person, who is under the impression that they are not good enough for anything.

But, can someone think if positive psychology can have limitations?

Maybe not!! Because positivity itself has the power to remove all kinds of limitations. It turns out that the phrase “too much of a good thing can be bad” also applies to positivity. For example: If a person lost his dog two days back and his wife was recently diagnosed with cancer and maybe can lose his job, in that case you cannot tell the person to stay positive because positive mindset may irritate him, he must be looking for some concerned words.

Also, sometimes positive psychology makes you limited, when you start seeing only positive things you will stop looking for alternatives that are the most important tool for growth and development.

The importance of experiencing negative emotions and how to turn those experiences into success.

So, do we always have to think in negative situations?

Well, the answer should be “NO”. We as humans experience all kinds of emotions and we must trust them, we only need to understand when to take action on our feelings. Being always positive about various situations may slow your personal growth as you would always remain in your comfort zone without getting to know any other area to work on.

There is one very famous quote:

Poison is everything in excessive quantity, same goes here excessive positive mindset is also like a poison that will make you blind to look for alternatives.
